Luxury Watch Market Index UK
UK Luxury Watch Market Index
A transparent snapshot of current asking prices across Imperial Time's active, in-stock luxury-watch catalogue, designed for collectors, buyers, journalists and researchers tracking the UK secondary watch market.
Current asking-price snapshot
These figures are dealer asking prices from Imperial Time's current inventory — not completed-sale prices, manufacturer retail prices, independent valuations or investment-return estimates.
| Brand | Watches observed | Asking-price range | Median asking price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rolex | 96 | £4,950–£79,700 | £12,375 |
| Cartier | 4 | £5,950–£6,900 | £6,625 |
| Patek Philippe | 2 | £7,250–£110,000 | Not reported — sample too small |
| Audemars Piguet | 2 | £26,500–£30,995 | Not reported — sample too small |
Median values are published only where the current brand sample contains at least three eligible watches. Smaller samples remain visible as ranges but are not presented as statistically robust medians.
Where current Rolex asking prices sit
The Rolex sample is large enough to break out major model families. These medians describe Imperial Time's current asking-price inventory and should not be interpreted as universal UK market valuations.

How the index is built
- Source universe: Imperial Time UK Shopify catalogue.
- Included: active products with positive inventory and watch product types.
- Excluded from this traditional luxury-watch index: Swatch / Royal Pop collaborative stock, accessories, straps, key rings, non-watch products and out-of-stock listings.
- One qualifying product listing equals one observation, regardless of available quantity.
- Currency: GBP; current visible asking price.
- Median is reported only for brand samples with at least three observations.
- Model-family classification is derived from the product title and canonical catalogue identity.
What the data can — and cannot — tell you
The index helps track the composition and asking-price level of Imperial Time's live stock over time. It can show how our inventory mix and advertised prices change by brand and model family.
It does not represent every UK dealer or completed transaction. Condition, year, provenance, dial, bracelet, box and papers, originality, service history, scarcity and after-set modifications can all materially change the value of an individual watch.
Understanding UK luxury-watch prices
Useful context for buyers comparing pre-owned Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier and other luxury watches.
Is this a UK luxury watch price index?
It is a UK dealer asking-price index based on Imperial Time's live, in-stock catalogue. It is deliberately narrower than a market-wide completed-sales index and the methodology is stated openly so the figures can be interpreted correctly.
Why use the median rather than the average price?
Luxury-watch inventories can contain unusually high-value pieces that distort a simple average. The median is often more useful for showing the middle asking price of the observed sample, particularly for Rolex where the current inventory is large.
Does the index show what my Rolex is worth?
No single index can value an individual watch. Reference, year, configuration, condition, originality, box and papers, service history and market demand all matter. For a specific watch, use Imperial Time's watch valuation service.
Are these sold prices?
No. These are advertised asking prices for active in-stock Imperial Time listings. Completed transaction prices may differ.
